Are you taking a trip from Australia to India? If so, before you start throwing items into your suitcase, be aware of one key requirement for travel.
India has brought back the Air Suvidha Self-Declaration Form from the 25th of June 2026 for all international arrivals to India through its new Air Suvidha 2.0 system. This online form submission is now a requirement and must be completed prior to leaving Australia to go to India.
Regardless of whether you are flying from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide or any other city in Australia, submitting this self-declaration form prior to flying means you will have a much smoother and more efficient arrival experience when you enter India.
What Is Air Suvidha 2.0?
The Air Suvidha 2.0 online health declaration system provides travellers coming into India with an alternative to filling out paper forms upon arrival; international passengers now have to fill out their information before arriving via the Internet.
The online Air Suvidha digital platform will improve the health monitoring process at international ports of entry and also allow for easier and swifter arrivals at India’s international airports.
Why Has Air Suvidha Been Reintroduced?
The Indian Government has reinstated Air Suvidha due to the public health fears arising out of the Bundibugyo virus disease, which is a strain of Ebola virus disease, in certain regions of Central Africa.
Although there is no connection between the disease and Australia, the obligation is on all foreign travellers.

Is the Air Suvidha Form Mandatory?
Effective June 25, 2026, all international travellers must complete an Air Suvidha Self-Declaration Form before entering India. It is highly suggested that travellers complete this form before they board their flight so that, upon arrival in India, they may expedite any processes associated with their airport arrival.

- Foreigners arriving into India
All travellers will be required to fill out this incoming travel declaration.
When Should You Submit Air Suvidha?
The Self-Declaration Form can be filled out until 24 hours before entering India.
It is advised that one fill out the form prior to check-in or departure from home, as it gives enough time to go through the details.
