Postponement Of Quad Leaders’ Meeting 2023

The Quad, comprising the United States, Japan, Australia, and India, had scheduled a Quad Leaders’ meeting on 24 May 2023 in Sydney, Australia to discuss various strategic issues.

However, Anthony Albanese cancelled the meeting as US President Joe Biden postponed his visit to Australia to focus on crucial debt-ceiling talks to prevent a catastrophe. Despite this, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi’s visit to Australia continues, highlighting the commitment of both nations to continue their engagements, regardless of external factors.

Last week Australia’s Prime Minister Anthony Albanese told – “Prime Minister Modi will be here next week for a bilateral meeting with myself.” He also mentioned that PM Modi will also have business meetings and will hold a public event at Homebush at the Olympic site in Sydney.
