Bangalore Palace History
In 1873, the British guardians of Maharaja Chamarajendra Wadiyar X purchased the land for Bangalore Palace for 40,000 Rupees. Construction started in 1874 and was completed by 1878. A summer retreat for the royal family, the palace itself was commissioned by the Royal Wadiyar Family.
The present is not as vibrant as the history of Bangalore Palace. This palace has been facing significant legal challenges since the 1970s. Presently, ownership of the palace rests with Smt. Pramoda Devi Wadiyar, the lawful heir of the Wadiyar family.
